A high quality folding tripod for half plate cameras stamped at various locations ’The “Rambler” Ashfords Patent’. James Ashford operated from premises in Birmingham’s Aston Road, making fine quality photographic tripods and a small number of cameras. The tripod is of mahogany and brass construction and measures 52” (130cm) high at maximum extension. Approximate date of manufacture 1890. NOT FOR SALE
