Joshua Bilcliff ‘Royalty’

A fine late-Victorian half plate field camera.  Without maker's mark but believed to be the 'Royalty' by Joshua Billcliff of London, and dating to around 1885. It is fitted with a good quality Taylor Taylor and Hobson 8 x 5 Rapid Rectilinear lens, serial number 7436 and comes with one double dark slide, its original tripod and a carrying case.  The camera is British standard half plate size, taking 12cm x 16.5cm plates (approx).  Measurements at maximum extension 40cm (16") including the lens and 22cm high.  NOT FOR SALE
