A rare Nineteenth Century concave mirrored graphoscope, used for viewing photographs, postcards and 'Cartes de Visites' at a larger scale. The instrument comprises a concave mirror housed within an ebonised frame, with fretwork stand and adjustable card holder which slides along two metal poles for precise framing and focusing of the image being viewed. The device folds flat for ease of transportation and storage. Mirror (including frame) 32cm x 22cm, the instrument standing approximately 38cm overall. NOT FOR SALE
