FRANKS HALF PLATE CAMERA

A superb Victorian brass-bound mahogany half-plate folding camera by Aubrey Franks of Manchester.  The company traded at premises in Deansgate until 1897.  This particular example survives in remarkable, original/unrestored condition, with good bellows, super brasswork and beautifully clear optics.  It comes complete with plate holder and tripod.  The camera retains it's original Ivorine maker's plate, and the lens is similarly marked with the Franks of Manchester name.  NOT FOR SALE
