‘INVINCIBLE’ HALF PLATE CAMERA

 

A Victorian brass-bound mahogany half-plate folding camera, the 'Invincible' by W.A.C. Smith of 51-53 Dundas Street in Glasgow, a company which was active for a short period from the 1890s through to the early 1900s.  This is a rare camera in very good original/unrestored condition, fitted with Wray of London's 8.5" (6.5" x 5") lens, a working Thornton Pickard 'Snap Shot' mechanical shutter, and retaining its original spirit level and all ivorine maker's plaques; also accompanied by a matching double dark slide and a Thornton Pickard tripod.   NOT FOR SALE
