A fine mahogany and brass folding British half plate camera by the Birmingham maker, James Ashford. Ashford operated from premises in the city’s Aston Road and made photographic tripods and a handful of camera models including this example of his 1887 Patent. The camera is made from fine quality mahogany with hand-dovetailed joints. It is fitted with a 7.5” Taylor Taylor Hobson Cooke Series V Anastigmant lens, serial number 81993. 42cm at maximum extension, 24cm high. NOT FOR SALE
