newton & co Magic lantern

A large tinplate and brass magic lantern by Newton and Co of London. Marked to one side “Newton & Co, Scientific Instrument Makers to HM The King, 72 Wigmore Street London W”. The 8.5” lens also engraved “Newton London Anastigmat Lens” and bearing the serial number 2230. Fitted internally with an arc lamp and with a Beard’s Eclipse slide changer. 83cm (33”) at maximum extension, and 42cm (16.5”) high.
