falklands conflict pucara prop

An aircraft propeller blade from an Argentinian Pucara aircraft, reputedly salvaged from the British Special Air Service (SAS) raid on Pebble Island during the 1982 Falklands War. The operation, which took place on 14 May 1982, was a covert attack undertaken by an elite squad of British SAS soldiers, under which explosives were strategically placed on Argentine aircraft and fuel dumps.  Six Pucaras, four Turbo Mentors and one SkyVan transport aircraft were destroyed.  The propeller measures approximately 125cm long and weighs 10kg.  It comes complete with a photograph showing one of the destroyed purcaras and an edition of the Francis Mackay/John Cooksey book which provides a highly detailed record of the attack.
