REDDING WHOLE PLATE CAMERA

 

A British standard whole plate late Victorian field camera manufactured by Henry Joseph Redding of Regent Street, London.  The firm operated under this name from 1899 until 1905, after which they became a limited company operating as Redding and Co Ltd.  This particular camera is made of high quality mahogany (possibly rosewood?) and brass and survives in beautiful/unrestored condition with only minor age related wear.  Approximately 21" (54cm) at maximum extension.  Brass maker's plaque reads 'H.J. Redding and Co., Luzo Registered Trade Mark, 3 Argyll Place, Regent Street, London. W.'  The lens is unmarked.  NOT FOR SALE
