Antique Signal Box Instrument, Midland Railway Company, 1900s

£450.00

A superb antique signal box block instrument from the Midland Railway Company, originally forming part of the system of similar instruments used by signalmen to maintain safety on the railways by allowing only one train on each 'block' of line at any one time. This particular example is stamped at four locations 'MRCo' and is (indistinctly) dated 1903 to the base.. The instrument stands 47cm high, is 17cm deep and 28cm wide. A superb display piece!

The Midland Railway Company was in operation from 1844 until 1931, later consolidating with others lines to become the London, Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS).

Excellent condition. Overseas buyers welcome - please ask for a shipping quotation.
