£0.00

A rare late Nineteenth century miners dial by Davis of Leeds. The company was established by Gabriel Davis in 1779 - later to be joined by his nephew John who made his fortune after setting up a near identical company in Derby in the 1830s. The 5” compass dial is engraved ‘Davis, Leeds’. On later display stand.

Condition: Instrument in good overall condition with normal wear and tear commensurate with age and use. Both sighting arms are missing their wire threads. The compass dial is in good condition and the needle moves freely. The locking mechanism works correctly.
