William Morley Half Plate Camera, London, circa 1860

£0.00

A very good, Victorian mahogany and brass folding British half plate field camera by William Morley of London. The company operated from its 70 Upper Street address from 1848 until 1890. The camera is fitted with an F6 Perken Son and Rayment Rapid Euryscope 7" x 5" Optimus Lens. It survives in very good, original and unrestored condition, with Ivorine maker’s plate present, bellows in very good, light-tight condition and mahogany with original French-polished finish retaining good colour and shine. Small loss of beading to front lens standard. The brasswork has its original lacquer with some age-related oxidation and tarnishing. The lens optics are very clear with no evidence of haze or fungus, just a couple of spots and light cleaning marks. The iris is operational.
