‘the standard’ horizontal enlarger

 

‘The Standard’, an Edwardian horizontal enlarger in mahogany and brass, originally used to project glass quarter plate photographic images to a larger size for printing. This particular example measures 78cm (30") at maximum extension and stands 29cm (11½") high and probably dates to the early 1900s. Its plate holder accepts British Standard quarter plate slides (84mm x 109mm), which may be held in both landscape and portrait format. NOT FOR SALE
