Dating to around 1915, a Thornton Pickard of Altrincham ‘College’ half plate field camera, body only, fitted with Thornton Pickard ‘Time and Instantaneous’ mechanical shutter. It was originally intended as a beginner’s camera and was produced in quarter plate, half plate and whole plate sizes. The model was introduced in 1909 and remained in production until the mid ‘20s.
