ARcher & sons Mahogany lantern
A fine Victorian mahogany and brass magic lantern by Archer and Sons of Liverpool, fitted with a 12" 'Wigmore' lens by Newton and Co of London. An impressive 80cm (32") at maximum extension and 44cm (17") high. Brass maker's plaque to the right hand side. Original bellows extending by means of a rack and pinion system. Archer and Sons operated from 1848 until the late 1890s and became one of the largest lantern manufacturers in the North of England. NOT FOR SALE
