
18 Carpenters Moulding Planes, Early Examples
Antique carpenters moulding, or molding, planes. This super collection of EIGHTEEN mostly 19th Century beechwood planes were used for forming the decorative trim around doors, windows and fine furniture. Some of these are quite early (i.e. up to 200 years old), many bear the marks of their makers and original owners. All measure 24cm (9.5").

Richard Melhuish & Sons of London (1828-1925)
Joseph Gleave of Manchester (1832-1967)
All with signs of use but in good condition, cleaned and lightly waxed. A couple of with worm holes (treated). Irons mostly good, some with surface rust. A couple of knocks to the wedges, consistent with age and use. Minor paint spots.
