Antique carpenters moulding - or molding - planes. This super collection of NINETEEN mostly 19th Century beechwood planes were used for forming the decorative trim around doors, windows and fine furniture. Some of these are early (i.e. up to 200 years old) examples, many bear the marks of their makers and original owners. All measure 24cm (9.5").

  • Joseph Gleave of Manchester (1832-1967)

  • William Moss of Birmingham (1800-1843)

  • Tyzack Bros of London (1843~)

  • Onions & Co of Birmingham (1894-1901)

  • Atkins & Son of Birmingham (1863-1900)

  • J Buck of London (1826-1910)

  • John Moseley & Sons of London (1819-1910)

  • William Hields of Nottingham (1830-1881)

All with signs of use but in good condition, cleaned and lightly waxed. A couple of with worm holes (treated). Irons mostly good, some with surface rust. A couple of knocks to the wedges, consistent with age and use. Minor paint spots.
