A near complete set of 50 antique glass magic lantern slides from Fradelle & Young's 'Educational Travel' series on the subject of Italy, including many scenes of Rome and others of Venice, Tivoli, Florence, Pompei, Naples, Pisa and the Vatican. Also included by the same publisher though possibly not part of the original set are a couple of scenes of Paris.

Fradelle and Young operated from 246 Regent Street, London from 1884 until 1897.

All slides are in the standard 3¼” x 3¼” format. All are in good condition, free from chips and cracks, all annotated and with good edge binding. Original fitted wooden case bearing original Fradelle and Young label embossed 'Rome, Fradelle and Young, Photographers, 246 Regent Street, London.' Original black ebonised finish with minor scuffs and scratches, interior numbered from 1 through to 50, felt lined to the inner lid.
