Taxidermy Wild Boar, Fighting Pair, Superbly Mounted, possible royal provenance
Now reduced to around half of what I had it up before. I am retiring soon and need to clear my stock - so grab yourself a bargain!
This unusually fine and highly realistic taxidermy specimen depicting a pair of fighting wild boar, has the animals head-to-head, both with bared teeth, one with a bleeding wound to its shoulder. The brass label indicates that these came from the famous El Priscalejo hunting estate in Cordoba in the South of Spain and my source at the time of acquisition tells me that they were shot by the then King of Spain, Juan Carlos, on one of his many hunting trips to the area.
Approximately 90cm wide and 55cm from wall.
Condition: A particularly fine piece of taxidermy, superbly mounted in a naturalistic pose. It survives in excellent condition, with only minor wear including some scuffs and scratches to the mounting shield.
Due to the size and weight of this item, collection is encouraged from my premises in the Penrith area, close to Junction 40 of M6. No overseas buyers.
